Today, we are delighted to be here with our Algerian friends to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the Algerian Revolution, a big festival of the fraternal people of Algeria.
Allow me, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, to take this opportunity to extend to the Government and people of Algeria, Mr. Ambassador and all Algerian friends in Vietnam the warmest congratulations.
54 years ago, the people of Algeria recorded a glorious victory in its heroic struggle which opened up a new era in the history of Algeria with the foundation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
As a close friend of the people of Algeria, the people of Vietnam always follow with keen interest the developments in Algeria and cherish all achievements recorded in their cause of national construction and development. We note with satisfaction that, under the wise leadership of Excellency President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the people of Algeria have overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully implement the policies of national reconciliation, harmonization and stabilization. In addition, your country is endeavouring to undertake a far-reaching and effective reform program for economic development and international economic integration.
We are delighted to see the fine development of our traditional friendship and cooperation. In the past, our two peoples stood side by side in the struggle for independence and freedom of each nation. Today, building on this tradition, our peoples are enhancing and expanding our multifaceted cooperation, especially in trade and petroleum to elevate our economic cooperation in commensurate with our fine political relations.
On the occasion of the Algerian people’s festival, I would like to invite you all to join me in a toast:
- To the greater achievements of the Algerian people in their cause of national construction!
- To the unceasing consolidation and development of the solidarity, relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria!
- To the good health of our Algerian and Vietnamese leaders!
- To the good health and success of Mr. Ambassador and Algerian friends working in Vietnam!
- To the good health of you all present here tonight!
