Algeria keen to boost ties with Vietnam

Algeria hopes to further strengthen its friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, said Speaker of Algerian National People’s Assembly Abdelaziz Ziari.

The Speaker made the statement while receiving a visiting delegation of Vietnamese National Assembly by Chairman of Economic Committee Ha Van Hien.

During its stay in Algeria from Nov.19-Dec.12, the delegation held talks with the Algeria-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group, the Council of the Nation’s Budget and Finance Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Investment Promotion and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry./.


Algeria-Vietnam: Mr. Ziari said that the economic advantages of Algeria and Vietnam strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Ziari, who received a parliamentary delegation representing the economic committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam, said that "the combination of many economic strengths of the two countries may make bilateral cooperation more diverse and more present," said a statement of the People’s National Assembly

Mr. Ziari, on this occasion, stressed the political will of both countries which will enable, he said, to overcome any obstacle that could stand up to the bilateral cooperation, such as the geographical distance between the two countries.

The efforts of both countries were also reviewed, including those designed to raise economic cooperation and trade at the "excellent" political relations binding the two countries.

Mr. Ziari expressed to his delegation " the respect and admiration" of the Algerian people to the Vietnamese people "in terms of relations of struggle and fight that go far back in history," the statement added

For its part, the president of the Vietnamese delegation, Mr. Ha Van Hien, said the "strength" of cooperation between the two countries must be strengthened in the future ", adding that the visit by President Bouteflika in Vietnam in 2000 revived the efforts for bilateral cooperation and opened up many areas of cooperation. "

The Vietnamese delegation, the statement said, also met members of the Committee of Economy, Development, Trade and Planning.

The President of the Economic Committee of Vietnamese National Assembly (governing body of the Assembly) Mr. Ha Van Hien is also a member of the Central Committee of Vietnamese Communist Party.

Meeting between parliamentarians of both countries

Members of the parliamentary of the Algeria-Vietnam friendship group at the People’s National Assembly and a Vietnamese parliamentary delegation, representing the Economic Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly, reviewed last Monday at Algiers, the "excellent" relations between the two countries.

A statement of the PNA, both parties said that Algeria and Vietnam "contain similar historical heritage and revolution and were willing to promote these relations and give them a new dynamics in the field of parliamentary, politics and economy.

The two sides also discussed the privileged relationship between the PNA and the Vietnamese parliament, while stressing the need to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The President of the Economic Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly, member of the Permanent Committee in the Assembly (governing body of the Assembly) and the Central Committee of Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Ha Van Hien praised the efforts of the Algeria's economic reforms and policies, saying "pleased with the progress and recovery experienced by Algeria under the leadership of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika”.
