ALGIERS- President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet has arrived Tuesday in Algiers for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika. The Vietnamese president has been welcomed upon his arrival at Houari-Boumediene International Airport by the Head of State Abdelaziz Bouteflika. "The visit shows the friendship ties and solidarity between Algeria and Vietnam, and is part of the dialogue and consultation they have been undertaken at the highest level," said a Presidency of the Republic's communiqué. During his stay in Algeria, the Vietnamese president will meet President Bouteflika to "examine means and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and promote partnership, especially in the economic, cultural and technical fields, as well as regional and international issues of common interest," the source added..
