Algiers (VNA) – PetroVietnam Exploration and Production (PVEP), under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), has found oil at BRS9 well on Bir Seba field, Lot 433a & 416b in Touggourt area, the Sahara Desert, Algeria.
Initial survey at the depth of 4,000 m showed that the oil field can produce more than 5,000 barrels a day.
Oil was found at the well after only 63 days drilling, the shortest drilling period so far.-Enditem
