Dear friends,
First of all, please allow my spouse, me as well my colleagues in the Embassy, to wish all of you a warm welcome and to express our most cordial and sincere thanks for accepting to join the official celebration reception of National Day of Algeria which is only a few days apart from the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Vietnam on October 28th, 1962.
The anniversary of November 1st, 1954 which marks the beginning of the Algerian revolution which ended, seven years later, the colonial system in Algeria and led to the recovering of national Sovereignty, is celebrated this year in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and assertion of Algeria in its engagement to peace and its legitimate aspiration for progress, development and prosperity.
The relations between Vietnam and Algeria, ancient and historical, forged during the fight for national liberation of our two countries, have been, since forever, marked by an active solidarity and close dialogue.
These relations, existing before the independence of Algeria, experienced a new stage with the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Algeria and Vietnam forty five years ago. Since that time, the two countries have seen their friendship reinforced and their exchanges at all levels multiplied. The bilateral relations, which never ceased to get deeper and to develop, are characterized, today, by a shared vision for the future.
The growth of our respective economies brings about new opportunities for a renovated partnership, as well as an expansion of our economic relations and our exchanges in right proportion to our complementarities and potentialities brought by the two countries’ economies.

Structural transformations in both our countries recorded in the domestic front as well as the level of integration to respective regional areas and more globally to world economy announce a new qualitative stage in the development of our bilateral relations.
Algeria is following with great satisfaction rapid progresses accomplished by Vietnam - friend country - in all fields, more particularly its admirable continuous economic performance and also its efforts to international integration devoted by its adhesion to WTO and the successful organization of 14th Summit of APEC economies members. Algeria reiterates its availability to develop further the bonds of co-operation in all fields inclusively, in the interest of two countries and two peoples.
With sincere felicitation, Algeria is confident that Vietnam as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, 2008 – 2009, will certainly contribute to the advent of a world where peace and stability reign, where the international community mobilizes all efforts for the promotion of human progress, social economic development of all people.
